One of Rem's biggest flaws is how she pines after Subaru, who she knows isn't interested in her. Rem first appears as an incredibly strong character, but later falls for Subaru and follows him knowing full well that he won't love her. This is a huge problem that many fans have with Rem.

Rem is willing to get killed in order to protect the man she loves. This is actually a pretty amazing character trait as many anime characters aren't willing to go as far as Rem does. Fans even see her literally tortured in later episodes of the anime while fighting.

While Rem's loyalty is touching, it seems to be one of the only things driving the character in the later parts of the season. Rem seems to be a character that could be better fleshed out instead of just trying to protect Subaru.
Rem needs more character development than just following Subaru.

Not many powerful characters are willing to work a job as a maid. Not only does she do a good job, but she always seems to take pride in her work.
1 Overrated: Helpless
Despite being initially shown as a strong character when she was fighting alongside Subaru, Rem quickly becomes pretty helpless. This leads you to watch her get beat up and killed time after time. Many fans wish that Rem would be able to win more fights.
There are tons of anime girls that are able to hold their own much better than Rem can in tough fights.
