Those who are interested in seeing Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon but don't want to risk going to the theater and find the $29.99 purchase price on Disney+ a little steep have an opportunity to stream the film for a lower price a week after its release date, courtesy of the New York International Children's Film Festival.

NYICFF will be hosting two online screenings of Raya and the Last Dragon on March 12, one at 7 PM EST/4 PM PST and another at 10 PM EST/7 PM PST. Individual tickets to these screenings cost $18, a little over half the Disney+ price.

Whereas purchasing the film on Disney+ allows one to watch the film at any time and as many times as they want, these festival screenings are for a single scheduled viewing only. However, both screenings come with the big bonus of a question and answer session with Raya's voice actor Kelly Marie Tran and an unannounced selection of filmmakers from Walt Disney Animation Studios.

On top of accessing the film and the Q&A, watching Raya and the Last Dragon through these screenings supports the New York International Children's Film Festival, a non-profit film festival dedicated to showcasing artistic, diverse and intelligent films for kids, teens and families.

The 2021 New York International Children's Film Festival is the first online edition of the festival, which has been running since 1997. It runs from March 5 through March 14. 14 features and seven programs of short films will be streaming as part of the festival, which is also hosting a watch party for the new Netflix cartoon City of Ghosts on March 5 and a sneak preview of the upcoming film The Mitchells vs. the Machines on March 14 at 5 PM EST. All access passes for the festival are available for $40, but the Raya screenings, as well as the features Beans, Calamity and The Bears' Famous Invasion, each require their own add-on ticket selections.

Directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada from a script by Paul Briggs and John Ripa, Raya and the Last Dragon stars Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison and Ross Butler. The film arrives in theaters and on Disney+ Premiere Access March 5.
