Victor Stone/Cyborg actor Ray Fisher thanked Buffy the Vampire star Charisma Carpenter for aiding in the Justice League investigation spawned by claims of on-set abuse by Joss Whedon."Charisma Carpenter is one of the bravest people I know. I am forever grateful for her courage and for her lending her voice to the Justice League investigation," Fisher tweeted.

Fisher's tweet comes shortly after Carpenter offered support for the Justice League star while also detailing her own experience with Whedon during their time on Buffy. According to Carpenter, it was Fisher's public stance against Whedon that helped guide her decision to come forward, explaining how Whedon "has a history of being casually cruel." Examples she cited include how Whedon "proceeded to attack my character, mock my religious beliefs, accuse me of sabotaging the show, and then unceremoniously fired me the following season once I gave birth." Carpenter's statement was swiftly corroborated by fellow Buffy alum Amber Benson.

As noted by Fisher, Carpenter was one of the parties questioned in the Justice League investigation, which traces its roots back to comments made by Fisher in June 2020 when he retracted the praise he gave Whedon, who replaced director Zack Snyder on the DC Extended Universe film. Days later, he tweeted that "[Whedon's] on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable."

Warner Bros. soon launched an investigation into Fisher's claims. However, the studio announced that Fisher was not cooperating with the investigator it hired to look into the matter and that he failed to provide evidence to back up his claims. It also denied the actor's later allegation that DC Films President Walter Hamada asked Fisher to relent on Johns and focus solely on Berg and Whedon. In response, Fisher called for a third-party investigation. That investigation concluded in early December 2020, with WarnerMedia stating that "remedial action" had been taken.

WarnerMedia issued another statement in January, saying, "The [Justice League] investigation was conducted by an outside law firm and led by a former federal judge. More than 80 people were interviewed. We have full confidence in its thoroughness and integrity, and remedial action has been taken. The investigation has concluded, and it is time to move on."

Most recently, Fisher tweeted that Hamada still owed an apology to those who participated in the Justice League investigation.

Fisher's next appearance as Cyborg will be in Zack Snyder's Justice League.
