The Avengers villain Kang the Conqueror has become a household name, thanks to his unofficial introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Loki on Disney+. Over the course of the series, fans were treated to an entire pantheon of Loki Variants, not to mention a plethora of various times and worlds to explore alongside the show's colorful cast of characters. While the show teased the horrific multiversal war between Kang and his variants and showed what happens when Loki variants collide, those two aren't the only Marvel characters with variants.
While there are deeply strange versions of Loki and Kang throughout the multiverse, none have been as wildly odd as the various incarnations of Ravonna Renslayer that have been seen throughout the Marvel Multiverse.
Ravonna Renslayer - The Terminatrix
The first Ravonna Renslayer was introduced in 1965's Avengers #23 by Stan Lee and Don Heck and was the daughter of King Carelius, who ruled in the 40th century. This was the one kingdom left on the Earth at the time that Kang had declined to conquer, due his having romantic feelings for the princess.
When Ravonna spurned his advances, Kang manipulated the Avengers into battling him in an effort to show her his true power. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned, and Ravonna would have been killed had Kang not kept her body in stasis until she could be healed. When Ravonna was later restored, she learned of the conqueror's manipulations and embarked on a quest for revenge that would eventually see her become the Terminatrix.
Princess Ravonna Renslayer's First Variant
When Kang went back in time to save Ravonna from her initial grim fate, he created a divergent timeline in which he was struck instead by the blast that would have threatened her life. This version of Ravonna would ally herself with Immortus, one of Kang's other versions of himself, and together they would strike back at the Prime Kang in 1986's Avengers #267 by Roger Stern and John Buscema.
Following these events, Ravonna and Immortus would spend a long, loving life together within Limbo before peacefully passing together alongside a number of variants.
Revelation
The Ravonna that would become Revelation first appeared in 1993's Avengers: The Terminatrix Objective #1 by Mark Gruenwald and Mike Gustovich. Much like the primary Ravonna, Revelation was offered a chance to rule by Kang's side, but unlike the others she actually accepted his proposal.
Together she and Kang ruled a vast empire throughout time, and even had a son together who they named Marcus. Following her husband's death, Revelation took the reins of the empire by herself and waged war against the forces of the TVA and the dreaded Alioth.
Grandmaster Ravonna Renslayer
This version of Ravonna was only briefly seen alongside several Variants during The Terminatrix Objective after they had all been brought together by the elderly and ailing Immortus. He had hoped that one of these Variants would take it upon herself to end the life of the Ravonna he had spent the years growing old with, as her last wish was to die at his side.
Resembling the Elder of the Universe known as the Grandmaster, there are plenty of assumptions to be made about this particular Variant, although few if any of them can possibly be confirmed.
Judge Renslayer of the MCU
Finally, the Ravonna Renslayer of the MCU and most recent iteration of the character stands tall as the most prominent Judge in the Time Variance Authority. This no nonsense bureaucrat has made it her sole purpose to protect the Sacred Timeline and uphold the will of the Time-Keepers.
Of all the characters on Loki who skirt the line between good and evil, none do it quite as well as Judge Ravonna Renslayer. Not even the disturbing truth of her existence can sway her from her duties inside the organization, and that might just make her the most dangerous version of the character yet.
