A new teaser trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has dropped, featuring new weapons and gadgets in the upcoming fantasy third-person shooter. The trailer, stylized and hosted by Zurkon Jr. (who Insomniac Games describes as "the smallest yet mischievous member of the Zurkons") takes a look at some of the new weapons and gadget-based movement options that are being added to the upcoming game, set to be released on June 11. The Insomniac Games tweet was accompanied by a separate tweet from PlayStation, which also showed off the trailer in addition to the caption, "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is packed with outlandish, powerful weapons like the Blackhole Storm and Negatron Collider," highlighting a couple of the weapons debuting in the new game.RELATED: Sly Cooper Deserves a PS5 Reboot After Ratchet & Clank

Several new weapons and two new gadgets are featured in the video, including the previously shown Rift Tether, as well as the new Phantom Dash, which acts as an invincibility frame dash mechanic in the game. Several weapons are also shown in the trailer, including the Buzz Blades, Blackhole Storm, The Enforcer, Lightning Rod, Cold Snap, Ricochet and Negatron Collider. Fans may recognize a few of the weapons from previous titles, but a majority of the weapons shown -- all of which utilize a unique mechanic from freezing your foes to blasting them shotgun style -- are new additions. The trailer ends with a promise of a future video that takes a look at the unique worlds of the game.

Rift Apart is set after the events of 2013's Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus and 2016's Ratchet & Clank, the latter of which is a re-imagining of the original Ratchet & Clank game, which released on the PlayStation 2 in 2002. Rift Apart will be the first title in the Songy-exclusive Ratchet & Clank series to release on the PlayStation 5. The game was announced back in June 2020.

The new trailer also promises a more immersive experience, commenting on the PS5's DualSense controller, which will utilize dedicated ray tracing hardware in order to provide advanced haptic feedback, which will be reflected in the supply of weapons and gadgets.
