Weapons, Weapons, Weapons, galore! If there is one aspect Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gets right it's their amazing array of weapons.

The Ratchet & Clank series is founded on the simple mechanic of having a large variety of guns that often do fun, weird, and amazing effects during gameplay. In the latest title of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, players are gifted with a slew of new weapons to try and upgrade.

Some of these weapons do not necessarily do anything new, and some are somewhat reskinned from previous weapons. However, with Rift Apart utilizing the PS5 newest hardware, these weapons are phenomenal to play around with,

10 Void Repulser- A Strategic Defense/Offense Weapon Using Shields

Rivet Using the Viod Repulser in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

The Void Repulser is a mid-game weapon that can be first available to purchase at Urfdah Mesa, the locations of the Dimensionator's blueprints. This weapon functions more like a shield creating a plasma shield to block incoming bullets. Once charged, the player can unleash their energy in a shotgun blast.

This ability is similar to Black Panther's suit in that the more hits it takes, the larger amount of energy it can then push back. Though somewhat weak early on, through enough upgrades, this can be a handy weapon in a large firefight.

9 Drillhound- Ever Wanted To Shoot A Rocket That Barks At The Enemies?

This is a silly but powerful weapon. It is essentially a rocket launcher, but it only travels on the ground. So instead, the player fires a robotic drill dog that locks in on whatever the main target is.  Its homing ability is useful against larger targets on the ground, but this weapon starts later with flying enemies.

Regardless it is still fun to shoot many robotic dogs at enemies then watch them explode when they get hit. It is kind of like having a pet robot that also explodes when it is near your enemies.

8 Ricochet- It Just Keeps Hitting The Enemy Over And Over Again

Not a very powerful weapon but one that is a ton of fun. The Ricochet is a long-range weapon that fires a ball that hurtles towards the enemy. Once it hits, the Player can repeatedly keep hitting the target by repeatedly firing, resulting in the ball bouncing back and forth on the enemy.

A fun aspect about this weapon Is that every time it hits the target, there is an accompanying pinball sound effect and bright, colorful lights as it rings with each hit. That added detail makes the weapon a whimsical and humorous weapon.

7 Mr. Fungi- He is Just A Fun Guy

This weapon is a bit of a reskin of Mr. Zurkon, but it is a great reskin of an already great weapon. Mr. Fungi is a weapon that fires poison and shoots insults at the enemies.

The idea behind this weapon is just great. A game that can create something that will hurt enemies but also throws fun and humorous insults at them is a game worth playing.

6 Lightning Rod- Nothing Like Sending Electro Shots To Your Enemies

A simple but effective weapon. The Lightning Rod is a pistol that fires little projectiles that, if enough hit, will electrocute the enemies. However, it is very rapid-fire and it will run out of ammo quickly.

The incredible aspect of this weapon is the ability to stun enemies if enough bullets are fired into them. This stun would often jump to multiple enemies allowing the player some breathing room to change tactics. Plus, players get to see the enemy's skeleton in a cartoony fashion.

5 Topiary Sprinkler- Freeze The Enemies In Place By Turning Them Into Plants

Rivet Using the Topiary Sprinkelr on a boss in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

This grenade weapon called the Topiary Sprinkler fires a little sprinkler onto the battlefield. This sprinkler then moves around 360 degrees, firing at any enemy who gets close. Once hit, the enemy turns into a hedge with multiple flowers strewn across them.

At first glance, players may see this as just a joke weapon, giving that it does not really do any damage. However, freezing enemies and bosses in place become a high strategic advantage allowing the player to deal significant damage with other weapons.

4 Blackhole Storm- A Minigun Powered By A Black Hole

With Ratchet & Clank being a prolific series set in space, it is hard to believe there are so few weapons that utilize Black Holes. Nevertheless, with the Blackhole Storm, players now get a chance to use this powerful weapon against the enemies in Rift Apart.

This minigun does a moderate amount of damage early on. However, when fully upgraded, it will start firing projectiles that suck in nearby enemies. This weapon is sure to be a fan favorite on the replays once it has fully upgraded.

3 Cold Snap- Turn Your Enemies Into Ice Cubes

The Cold Snap is a similar weapon to the Topiary Sprinkler in that it is a grenade weapon that, when fired, can freeze enemies. It is a simple weapon but effective in neutralizing large groups of enemies.

The cute aspect of this weapon is that nearly every enemy is encased in a chunk of ice and starts sliding around the map. If fully upgraded, the cold damage makes the enemies much more vulnerable, making them easier to kill.

2 Negatron Collider- This Weapon Is Simply A Giant Laser

Rivet using the Negatron Collider on a boss in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

There really is not much else to this weapon other than the fact that it is a giant laser. However, this giant laser packs a powerful punch. This weapon deals an intense amount of damage, and it is one the player gets very early on.

The sound design behind this laser is what pushes this weapon above most. It has the most satisfying laser sound as it slowly charges up then unleashes in full force. In its upgraded version, it can even absorb enemy bullets making this a doozy of a weapon.

1 RYNO 8- The Multidimensional Cannon That Shoots Objects From Other Playstation Properties

Ratchet using the RYNO in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and bringing in a Mech from Horizon: Zero Dawn

It should come as no surprise that the RYNO 8 is the supreme weapon in any Ratchet & Clank Game. In previous titles, the RYNO would, for the most part, either fire a flurry of missiles, a faint beam, or a powerful cannon blast.

In Rift Apart, the main function of the RYNO 8 is that it pulls objects from multiple Dimensions, Including objects and people from Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.
