A clever YouTuber has designed a fully functioning invisibility shield.

Tate, the owner of the YouTube channel Randomonium, built the shield using a polycarbonate riot shield, glue and lenticular sheets. The important component here is the lenticular sheets, which are translucent, having a smooth side and a "lenticular" side that provides visual illusions. The shield's handle is also built from polycarbonate sheets by removing the opaque handles. However, the sheets should be very clean because any dust or smudges prevent the light from passing through clearly, and the "invisibility" is lost.

After thoroughly cleaning the parts, Tate attaches the lenticular sheets onto the plastic shield using clear glue. Then, the glue is left to dry for about 24 hours, resulting in a working invisibility shield that functions outdoors, and especially well indoors

Tate built the invisible shield taking inspiration from a video by a Canadian company called Hyperstealth Corp, which specializes in military camouflage patterns and has two videos explaining the mechanism behind its Quantum Stealth invisibility cloak. The principle behind this technology is simple: the sheet bends the light around the object behind it, thereby obscuring the object from view.

While this tech is different from Sue Storm's body invisibility and Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet, it is definitely something to keep an eye on.
