It might have been Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's birthday yesterday, but the 45-year-old action star was the one giving presents. Johnson shared a set photo from the live-action adaptation of the video-game "Rampage" on his Instagram account.

The picture, which came from the first day of the movie's production, shows Johnson and Jason Liles standing next to each other. Liles was wearing the gear he uses to embody George, "Rampage's" albino gorilla, and the Rock's friend in the film. In the post, Johnson praised Liles for his skill and preparation. "Jason has been studying gorillas for months now preparing for this motion capture role," Johnson wrote. "Gorilla movements, body language, and all emotions - joy, pain, sadness, love, aggression etc. It's insane when you get around this man and how he's able to brilliantly embody a gorilla."

Johnson also praised WETA Digital, who are handling the movie's VFX and motion capture. "This is the most fascinating advanced VFX/motion cap process I've ever worked with in my career," he said. "Incredible learning curve for me. We have the best mo-cap team in the world (WETA Digital) working on our gigantic RAMPAGE MONSTERS..." Johnson went on the say that audiences would see WETA Digital's work in the upcoming "War for the Planet of the Apes" and James Cameron's "Avatar" sequels.

According to this post and his recent summary on Instagram, Johnson will play Davis Okoye, the head of an anti-poaching unit in Rwanda. Davis' best friend is a rare albino gorilla named George. When some "very bad people" infect George, an alligator and a wolf with a serum that causes them to grow at an unprecedented rate and become more powerful and aggressive, Davis goes on a rampage of his own in search of getting justice for his friend.

Directed by Brad Peyton from a script by Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal, "Rampage" stars Dwayne Johnson, Jeffery Dean Morgan, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, PJ Byrne, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald and Breanne Hill. The film arrives April 20, 2018.
