Approximately a month into principal photography and Rambo V: Last Blood has released its first official photo from the upcoming sequel revealing Sylvester Stallone's return as iconic 80s action hero John Rambo.
Released through production studio Lionsgate's official Twitter account, the image shows a cowboy-dressed Rambo facing someone or something unseen in the rain.
Principal photography on the fifth installment of the popular Rambo franchise began last month in Eastern Europe with the filming location doubling as movie's settings of Arizona and Mexico.
The upcoming film will reportedly see Rambo trying to live a life of peace in his native Arizona only to cross the border into Mexico after the daughter of a friend is kidnapped by cartels. Once there, the former special forces soldier will find a new ally as they take on the human traffickers together.
Directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo), from a script written by Sylvester Stallone and Matt Cirulnick (Absentia), Rambo V: Last Blood features Stallone’s return to the iconic action hero he popularized in the 80s. It is currently scheduled for release sometime in fall 2019.
