Next month, Sylvester Stallone will reprise his iconic role as John Rambo in Rambo: Last Blood. Ahead of that, the upcoming sequel released a new official poster.
Shared by Stallone on his Instagram, the poster shows the Vietnam War veteran wielding his signature combat bow and arrow, ready for a new conflict.
The upcoming film has John Rambo leave his family ranch and life of peace to travel south of the border when a friend's daughter is kidnapped by criminal cartels. As the violence escalates, it becomes clear Rambo won't ever truly escape his world of fire and blood.
Based on the novel First Blood by David Morrell, the Rambo franchise has followed ex-Green Beret John Rambo and his attempt to fit back into society after serving in the Vietnam War. Portrayed by Stallone, the character has starred in three blockbuster films. He soon became an international action icon, as Rambo continues to be drawn into conflicts all over the globe.
Directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) from a script written by Sylvester Stallone and Matt Cirulnick (Absentia), Rambo: Last Blood stars Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Yvette Monreal. The film opens Sept. 20.
