The fifth and potentially final installment of the Rambo film series, Rambo: Last Blood, has received an extended cut on Amazon Prime Video, including an all-new opening sequence for the action film.

The extended version runs for an additional twelve minutes. It was initially released in foreign markets with scenes absent from the domestic release incorporated into the final film.

The international opening sequence sees John Rambo attempt to rescue three hikers from a flood. He is only able to successfully rescue a girl after a man is killed trying to find his wife. The sight of the two dead hikers triggers Rambo's post-traumatic stress disorder as he returns to his ranch. His PTSD episode in the tunnels under the ranch are interspersed with images of the dead hikers.

While Rambo: Last Blood was marketed as the final film in the iconic action franchise, star and co-writer Sylvester Stallone has indicated he is willing to reprise the role of combat veteran John Rambo for a potential sixth film, should the possibility arise.

Directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) from a script written by Sylvester Stallone and Matt Cirulnick (Absentia), Rambo: Last Blood stars Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Yvette Monreal. It is now available on home video.
