Based on the comic book and short film of the same name by Dennis Liu, the coming-of-age superhero story Raising Dion is being adapted by Netflix.

The series follows a young boy who develops a mysterious array of superpowers while being raised by his single mother shortly after the sudden death of his father. The trailer recreates some of the breathtaking moments from the comic and short film, with considerably more spectacle and wonder.

As Dion learns that his powers may be linked to his father's death, the boy is hunted by the government as they track superhumans appearing around the world to use to their own nefarious ends. While Dion and his mother come to terms with his new powers, they quickly find themselves on the run as the mystery deepens.

Star and executive producer Michael B. Jordan had teamed with Liu to create the adaptation, with Netflix greenlighting the project in 2017. The first season is slated to run for ten episodes.
