Raiders of the Lost Ark Rolling Into IMAX Theaters

And you thought the boulder looked big the first time around. Get ready for an upgrade as Raiders of the Lost Ark moves to the really, really big screen in September. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first film in the Indiana Jones franchise created by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg will get an IMAX re-release.

Paramount Pictures has yet to make the news official, but trade paper notes that sites like Fandango have begun posting showings beginning Sept. 7. Apparently, word got out a little earlier than the studio expected, but an announcement is expected later this week.

Harrison Ford's Dr. Jones will also appear in Blu-ray form for the first time with the Sept. 18 release of Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures, which features restored versions of Raiders (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).
