During the events of Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth's Thor was stripped of his golden locks and wore a new style of armor during his time as a gladiator on the alien world of Sakarr, keeping the latter change throughout most of Avengers: Infinity War. Concept art from Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development Andy Park shows a different approach to the God of Thunder's unwanted revamp, especially in regards to his hair.

Shared on Park's Instagram, the artwork -- which originates from a much older and more complete image Park previously shared on Twitter -- sees the Mighty Thor wearing a different type of armor, sans the cape seen in the film, that has a Roman gladiator style to it. His hair is styled into a buzz cut. Both are a far cry from Ragnarok, which saw Thor get a more simple-looking suit of armor and merely receive shorter hair.

Park explains in the description that the haircut was something he came up with during preproduction on the film, describing it as "if [Stan Lee] went even crazier with those [gnarly] blades of his." This, of course, refers to Lee's cameo in the film, in which he plays the barber who shortens Thor's hair before his match with the Hulk.

Thor's next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will occur in Thor: Love and Thunder. Directed by Taika Waititi, the film stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. It arrives in theaters on Feb. 11, 2022.
