R.I.P.D., Green Lantern, Thor: Apr 29th Comic Reel

According to Deadline, actor Jeff Bridges is in talks to star opposite Ryan Reynolds in the film. Zack Galifianakis was originally cast as Reynolds's partner in the film about an undead police squad, but left the production due to scheduling concerns. While I like the comedian turned actor, I think Bridges gives the film a certain classiness. When The Dude signs on to your movie, you know you have something special.

The Vulture reports that Brett Ratner is nearing a deal to direct a "Hercules" film based on Radical Studios' comic book treatment of the Greek legend. "The script, we're told, comes from Ryan Condal, who most recently wrote the script to Alex Proyas's adaptation of Milton's 'Paradise Lost' at Legendary Pictures," they write. As someone who appreciates sword and sandal movies, I say bring it on, Ratner.

According to the Times of India (via Comic Book Movie), Nolan and company will bring one actor with them to shoot in Jodhpur ... Christian Bale. "The main crew will start arriving from May 1. Christian Bale is expected to arrive in India on May 4 or May 5," they write. "Though permissions have been sought for shooting the film for the whole of May, the unit will shoot in India for only two days - May 6 and May 7." A source tells the paper that "they are coming with a very small unit of around 15 people and will be shooting here for two days. There are no Bollywood actors being cast in the movie. But, local actors and crew members might be roped in. The unit wants to use the beautiful fort as the background for the movie. However, nothing is known yet whether Jodhpur will feature as an Indian city in the movie or not." Since the production has successfully thwarted every attempt to guess the plot, I'll cast wide and say Batman travels to Nanda Parbat where he wrestles Killer Croc and Anarky. He also learns a new philosophy from Richard Dragon while staying there. What? That's as fair a guess as anything else at this point.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

The Hollywood Reporter continues its coverage of the screenwriting credit struggle over the film. Jamie Moss, one of the original writers on the project, has appealed the Writer's Guild decision that left him and co-writer Josh Schwartz off the credits. THR write that Moss is "said to be upset that [Sheldon] Turner -- who penned a script for a scrapped 'Magneto' spinoff, elements of which were incorporated into 'First Class' -- is receiving a story credit while Moss's work on an early version of 'First Class' is not being recognized." A decision is expected sometime today.

Roberto Orci tells MTV News that the story's originality sets it apart from the summer's other big releases. "It's not a superhero movie and it's not a sequel or a prequel or whatever," he says. "I also think it's going to have a broader appeal. It's a great ensemble cast, so there's a representative of everyone in the audience up there on screen going through this. We're all a little jaded by how much we've seen as moviegoers, so the idea of people in the 18th century who don't even have electricity yet seeing lights in the sky and aliens and how they process that ... It gives it a fresh feeling and a kind of newness that I think is going to translate."

Starring Daniel Craig, release date: July 29th, 2011

Moviehole reports that the production is looking for voice actors fluent in Romanian. If only I'd chosen that as my second language in college ... Hell, it'd be as rusty as my Spanish at this point.

Release date: February 17th, 2012
