Paramount has announced that its upcoming film, set in the A Quiet Place universe but separate from the continuity of the first two movies, is on the schedule for 2023.

The untitled movie is planned to be released on March 31, reported DeadlineRather than a sequel to the newly released A Quiet Place Part II, this installment will expand the setting of the first two movies into a shared horror universe by launching its own story.

John Krasinski, who wrote and directed the first two films in addition to starring in the first, is also behind the idea for the spinoff. However, this one will be written and directed by Loving's Jeff Nichols. As the movie is currently in the very early development stages, no plot details are yet available. Krasinski will produce under his Sunday Night banner, as will Platinum Dunes, with Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller all aboard as producers.

The theatrical release of A Quiet Place Part II has been highly successful, breathing life into the box office after a long dry period due to the pandemic.

Written and directed by John Krasinski, A Quiet Place Part II stars Emily Blunt, Djimon Hounsou, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds and Cillian Murphy. The film is now playing in theaters everywhere.
