Launching at the beginning of the month, the new premium streaming service Quibi has pulled out all the stops, with original programming boasting high budgets and all-star casts.

The digital platform is designed specifically for its content to be streamed through mobile devices, with the initial launch not featuring the option to stream content to televisions interfaced with mobile devices. However, Quibi has announced this function will arrive on the digital platform starting sometime next month. It is unknown if this will be done internally through the app or in partnership with existing TV-cast options like Apple's AirPlay or Google Cast.

The platform has also updated its download figures, reporting 2.7 million downloads since its launch on April 6. After its first week available, Quibi reported 1.7 million downloads, though third-party reports have not yet confirmed either reported download numbers.

With dozens of original shows available at launch, each with installments running for 10 minutes or less to benefit viewers on the move, Quibi is certainly off to an auspicious start. The "movie-in-chapters" Most Dangerous Game is reportedly the most popular original on the platform, while Chrissy Teigen's Chrissy's Court, Chance the Rapper's revival of Punk'd and Sophie Turner's Survive are similarly proving popular with audiences.
