Thankfully, not all of the anime's questions are left dangling by the season's end. A few mysteries from both seasons received a few answers as it marches closer to its conclusion.

10 Did Futaro Help The Quintuplets Pass Their Exams?

It's not easy being a student and tutor simultaneously—especially if your students turn out to be five sisters who hate studying. This is the hurdle Futaro has to clear at the beginning of the series, and by season one's end, he makes progress bringing the quintuplets' grades up. However, they haven't improved much.

To make matters worse, the girls' father ends up making an ultimatum—if they don't pass their finals, they'll be forced to transfer schools again. Yet under all that pressure and the previous fumbles, Futaro and the Nakano sisters manage to pull through with all five passing their exams.

9 Does Nino Ever Find Out Kintaro's True Identity?

Nino and Futaro (as Kintaro), Quintessential Quintuplets

While on the camping trip in season one, Nino mistakes Futaro in a blonde wig as "Kintaro" (a relative he made up), who ends up leaving a lasting impression on her after he saves her from falling off a cliff. Since then, Nino has longed to see Kintaro again, completely unaware that it was actually Futaro.

It turns out Kintaro's secret identity doesn't last all that long when season two rolls around. Futaro disguises himself as Kintaro again, but Nino puts two and two together pretty fast and realizes they're the same person. This almost ends up furthering the initial rift between Futaro and Nino.

8 Does The Nakano Family Receive More Screentime Other Than The Quintuplets?

Maruo Nakano, Quintessential Quintuplets

Besides the fact that their father is rich and their mother had passed away, not much was revealed about the Nakano family in season one. Fortunately, season two put a good number of those questions to rest by revealing more details about them.

After spending a whole season in the shadows, the girls' stepfather is a doctor, Maruo Nakano. As for their mother, Rena, it turns out she was a strict teacher who died of a terminal illness. Viewers even get to meet the quintuplets' grandfather—a man who runs the Toraiwa Hot Springs Inn.

7 Who Confesses To Futaro First?

Nino Confesses, Quintessential Quintuplets

By season one's end, more than just one of the quintuplets had started developing feelings for Futaro—but who was going to confess their feelings before the rest did? At first, it seemed like it would be either Miku or Ichika, but it was Nino.

This was especially surprising since they got off to a bad start when they met. Also, when he pretended not to hear her initial confession on the motorcycle, it appeared that it would be left like that. However, Nino takes no prisoners in the game of love, and she confesses again soon after to make sure he heard her.

6 Who Was Rena?

Towards the beginning of the season, Futaro is shocked when he ends up meeting the girl from his Kyoto photo in person again, who introduces herself as Rena. However, Rena is actually one of the quintuplets in disguise trying to help Futaro cut ties to his past—but who was she?

Towards the last few episodes of season two, it's revealed that Itsuki was Rena all along, and she used their mother's name as an alias. Her reason for tricking Futaro ends up being much more complicated.

5 Can Futaro Tell Which Quint Is Who?

Futaro and Itsuki (?), Quintessential Quintuplets

Despite having the same face, the Nakano sisters have different personalities and hairstyles. Futaro has trouble telling the quintuplets apart since most of them are pretty good at impersonating each other. In season two, this ends up becoming a trial by fire for him as all of the quintuplets are dressed like Itsuki for the sake of their grandfather.

At first, it seems like Futaro still isn't going to catch on—but after some advice from the sisters' grandpa, he manages to start recognizing little things like verbal ticks and body language. This enables him to tell the identical sisters apart.

4 Did Miku Confess Her Feelings?

Miku Nakano, Quintessential Quintuplets

Miku is the first one to start developing feelings for Futaro. However, she's not the first to confess her feelings to him. Her initial plans to do so kept getting pushed back, and for some time, it seemed the more quiet and soft-spoken quintuplet might not get the chance this season.

Due to some intervention from her sisters, she finally gets some alone time with Futaro on the school trip and manages to confess. Though she reels it back in, teasing Futaro in the process, she believes her feelings still got across anyway.

3 Do The Quintuplets' Feelings For Futaro Come Between Them?

The quintuplets may be thick as thieves, but that doesn't mean there's no sibling rivalry between them. Season one of Quintessential Quintuplets hinted at the idea that the girls' feelings for Futaro would clash at some point. In season two, it starts to become a big game of tug of war to see who'd get to be with him.

Things get especially turbulent during the school trip to Kyoto, as the sisters are deadset on getting some quality time with Futaro, which causes some lines to be crossed and trust to be betrayed. Thankfully, the quintuplets can reconcile at the end of that arc.

2 Do We Get Any More Hints About The Bride's Identity?

The Bride, Quintessential Quintuplets

Since the anime is told from Futaro's perspective as a flashback during his wedding day, viewers know one of the five sisters is who he gets married to—but which one is it? While season one had a couple of flashforwards of the wedding day, season two used these scenes more sparingly.

Up until the end of the season, it seemed like the bride could still be any one of the Nakano sisters—that is until the final scene of the last episode where it's revealed that one of them (dressed as Itsuki) had kissed Futaro under the Bell of Vows during the hot springs trip. That implied that whoever it was is implied to be the bride.

1 Who Was The Kyoto Girl?

Futaro's Kyoto Photo, Quintessential Quintuplets

Aside from the identity of Futaro's future bride, one of the biggest mysteries in the series has been who the girl in Futaro's photo is. In season one, the only thing the viewer could be certain of was that it was one of the five sisters. Season two opens with a flashback to Futaro's chance encounter with them, but things start to become clearer towards the end of that season.

At first, with Itsuki trying to jog Futaro's memories of Kyoto and Ichika seeing the photo for herself, it seemed like one of them might be the girl from the photo. Itsuki later confronts Yotsuba, revealing it was her all along. What's more is that she seems to remember her time with Futaro all those years ago, too.
