Ridley Scott's adaptation of Queen & Country has reportedly recruited Sylvia Hoeks to star as British spy Tara Chace.

Created by Greg Rucka, the Oni Press comic follows Chace, an operative of the Special Operations Section of SIS, referred to internally as the Minders.

According to That Hashtag Show, Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049) will play Chace, a the brilliant but emotionally detached woman who's recruited out of college by MI6. After her closest associates are killed and Chace is betrayed by her superiors, she's left alone to bring down a terrorist cell in Saudi Arabia.

A film adaptation has been stranded in development hell for years at Fox -- Ellen Page was reportedly circling the role of Chace in 2013 -- but the project came back to life in March, with news that Scott was in talks to direct and produce.

The original Queen & Country ran for 32 issues, from 2001 to 2007, with additional Declassified miniseries being released during that span. Rucka also expanded the franchise with the release of three prose novels: A Gentleman’s Game in 2004, Private Wars in 2006, and The Last Run in 2010.

A Dutch actress, Hoeks enjoyed her breakout role last year in Blade Runner 2049, executive produced by Scott. She'll next be seen in The Girl in the Spider's Web, the sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
