Resurrected for modern-day consoles, Quake is back from the dead and Limited Run Games is shipping nostalgia by offering a physical release. With enhanced graphics, availability on all current-gen consoles and PC, with support for native 4K at 120 FPS on next-gen consoles. , Released in 1996, Quake is a critically-acclaimed dark fantasy first-person shooter developed by ID Software and published by Bethesda that serves as an inspiration for many modern-day FPS.

For the die-hard fans, Limited Run Games offers a unique physical release edition in three editions: a standard edition, a Deluxe Edition, and an Ultimate Edition. Limited Run Games specializes in publishing limited, physical releases of games that cater to fans of indies, cult classics and retro games.  The physical releases will be available to pre-order for Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch from Limited Run Games' website starting August 27 at 10 AM ET.

Regular Edition

Quake's regular, physical release has none of the bells and whistles of the other offerings; this is just the game in a physical box with a physical cartridge. However, it does come with a full-color manual, which is perfect for fans of physical releases who want to feel the nostalgia of flipping through the game manual before diving into their brand new game. The standard physical edition will open for pre-order alongside the Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition and retails for $29.99.

Deluxe Edition

The Limited Deluxe Edition of Quake comes with the physical copy from the regular edition, alongside a handful of collectibles for die-hard fans of the series. This includes an 18x24" reversible poster, a metal Quake logo keychain and a commemorative metal coin delivered in a deluxe PC-style big box. Quake Deluxe Edition also includes an official Quake SteelBook to house its Nintendo Switch cartridge (or PS4 disk). This edition will retail for $79.99, with pre-orders beginning August 27.

Ultimate Edition

For the most dedicated of Quake fans, Limited Run Games has a Limited Ultimate Edition available for pre-order. The Ultimate Edition comes with everything included in the Deluxe Edition and a ton of extra physical merch to complete your Quake collection. Included in the box (which is styled to look like a brick of nail gun ammo!) is a Quake logo t-shirt, a replica of the Ring of Shadows, an enamel pin with the Ranger player icon, a 3" metal shambler figure, a motorized rotating Quake quad-damage replica statue and a numbered certificate of authenticity. The Ultimate Edition will be available for pre-order on August 27 and retails for $174.99.

Like most Limited Run Games offerings, these are expected to go fast when pre-orders open up. However, for players who prefer the digital releases to extra goodies, the enhanced remake of Quake is available now for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass for console and PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, QuakeQuake II and Quake III Arena are available on Game Pass.
