Veteran character actress Beth Grant has been cast as the nosy neighbor in NBC's upcoming reboot of The Munsters, TVLine reports.

Grant, who's worked before with writer/producer Bryan Fuller on Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies, will play a Maryanne, woman in a wheelchair who's suspicious of her creepy new neighbors on Mockingbird Lane. She joins a cast that includes Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily, Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, Charity Wakefield as Marilyn and Mason Cook as Eddie.

Fuller has described Mockingbird Lane as “a dramatic departure from the tone and style" of The Munsters, the sitcom that aired from 1964 to 1966 on CBS. While the original show was a satire of classic movie monsters and contemporary sitcoms, the writer has said he wants the revival to be "an American Harry Potter. To have that sense of a magical world that you get to go to with your family and find stories told in a fantastical way that are instantly relatable. It’s an American Horror Story that the whole family can watch.”
