Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander (The CW's Supergirl) has given Jon Bernthal's interpretation of Frank Castle her blessing.

Taking to Twitter, Alexander wrote about the new Marvel/Netflix series' star, "Watch it as its own interpretation of the source material," adding, "I like Jon Bernthal a lot and he looks like an amazing Punisher. You’re not being disloyal to PWZ if you enjoy this new version or if you like it better. There is room for all of us."

It starred future Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Ray Stevenson (Thor) as the titular character.
