With grim determination, Frank Castle takes another step toward the small screen. Sure, fans already a look at Jon Bernthal's sort of proto-Punisher in the second season of Marvel's "Daredevil," but the unstoppable vigilante is gearing up for his first solo television outing. Following a series of leaked set photos, we now have word that the debut season of "The Punisher" has finally completed filming.

The news arrives courtesy of photos from the official wrap party, where cast and crew celebrated the end of about six months of production. There's still more work to do on the Netflix drama in post-production, of course, but the party marks the end of work for most of the major players, including stars Bernthal and Ben Barnes.

Although Netflix hasn't announced a premiere date, we do know that "The Punisher" is targeted for 2017 release. "The Defenders," which brings together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in an eight-episode miniseries, will arrive first, however, on Aug. 18.

"The Punisher” stars Jon Bernthal in the title role as Frank Castle, joined by Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson.
