After Thanos destroyed Cosmic Ghost Rider's Earth, Castle traveled back in time to find Thanos as an infant, hoping that he would be able to use the power of the Mad Titan to serve Frank Castle's unique sense of justice and punishment. Unfortunately, Punisher Thanos took his teachings too far and ruled Earth with an iron fist before ultimately killing his adoptive father, but the militaristic mutant from the future was able to form a unique Guardians of the Galaxy team to go back in time and stop Punisher Thanos as a baby.
