Fans can argue for days on the highs and lows of Marvel's Netflix dramas, but most find common ground in Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Frank Castle. The "Walking Dead" alum made his debut as The Punisher last year on the second season of "Daredevil," and provided an interesting -- and violent -- foil to Matt Murdock's more measured approach to fighting crime in Hell's Kitchen.
Audience response was so positive, in fact, that Marvel and Netflix are now in the midst of filming a standalone series focused on The Punisher's quest to clean up the streets. If the latest batch of images from on set are any indication, however, Castle is in for a rough go of it.
Frank's seen better days, but then again, that's kind of his whole deal, as his family was wiped out by organized crime.
Bernthal is joined in "The Punisher" by Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson. Filming is expected to wrap soon, with the series arriving later this year on Netflix.
