The Punisher S2's Rotten Tomatoes Score Could Prove Deadly for Frank Castle

The reviews are in for Netflix's The Punisher Season 2.

Review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes has posted the critics' score for the Marvel Cinematic Universe series' sophomore season, which came in at a lukewarm 50%. This is a considerable drop-off from Season 1's score of 67% in 2017.

While still significantly better than ABC's Inhumans, with its 11% score for its sole season, this makes Season 2 of The Punisher second only to Season 1 of Iron Fist as the worst rated MCU Netflix series. The first season of the Marvel  martial arts series earned a score of 19% in 2017, while last year's second and final season earned a 57% score.

Following the cancellation of Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil, the future of The Punisher is still unknown. Showrunner and executive producer Steven Lightfoot has confirmed that, while the series has not been officially cancelled, he has also not received the word from Netflix about a possible third season.
