Deborah Ann Woll will be reprising her role as Karen Page in the upcoming second season of Marvel's The Punisher on Netflix, showrunner Steve Lightfoot confirmed in an interview on the show's set.
So, while the future of the newly-minted Nelson, Murdock and Page is currently up in the air following Netflix's cancellation of Daredevil, it appears that viewers will at least get some closure regarding the peculiar relationship between Karen and infamous vigilante Frank Castle.
That being said, it is unclear exactly how big a role Woll will have in The Punisher's sophomore season, given her intense shooting schedule during the production of Daredevil Season 3.
"We were shooting while Daredevil was shooting [its third season]. Deborah has a huge part in that season," Lightfood said. "Deborah was very busy, and I didn't know when I could get her into the show this time around. In the world of the show, that relationship continues to be very important."
Woll made her debut as Karen Page in Daredevil Season 1 back in 2015 and has since appeared in every one of the series' 39 total episodes. Between Seasons 2 and 3 of Daredevil, Woll had recurring parts in both The Defenders and The Punisher Season 1, appearing in four episodes of each.
However, after Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil were all canceled, Karen became one of many Marvel Netflix characters placed into a state of limbo. But thanks to The Punisher, it appears she'll be getting at least one more go-round.
Arriving in January on Netflix, The Punisher Season 2 stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, Josh Stewart as John Pilgrim, Floriana Lima as Krista Dumont and Giorgia Whigham as Amy Bendix.
