Jon Bernthal has an uncertain answer for fans asking whether he will resume his role as Frank Castle from Netflix's The Punisher.

The actor skirted around the subject when it was brought up at the end of an interview with Josh Wilding for Small Engine Repair, saying, "I don't know, man. I don't know. You know, yeah. I don't know about all that." Bernthal proceeded to laugh off one of the presenters' playful insinuations that he could be lying.

This comes after much speculation that fellow Marvel Netflix hero Daredevil (portrayed by Charlie Cox) would be making the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A popular fan theory that Charlie Cox's arms are visible in the recently released Spider-Man No Way Home trailer was debunked after an IMAX version of the trailer played in theaters, revealing that the arms belong to someone else.

Daredevil/Matt Murdock's archenemy, Wilson Fisk, is also rumored to appear in an upcoming MCU project, with Vincent D'Onofrio allegedly set to reprise the role in Hawkeye.

Fans have been lobbying for revivals of both The Punisher and Daredevil Marvel Netflix series since 2018, with fans even launching a #SaveDaredevil campaign on social media. Recently, one fan posted Daredevil fan art on social media calling for a revival of the series on Disney+, with Daredevil and Punisher alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man, with D'Onofrio's Kingpin looming large in the background.

The Punisher originally ran for two seasons on Netflix from 2017-2019. It was a spin-off of Daredevil, where Bernthal initially made his mark as the vigilante crimefighter.
