The following contains major spoilers for Punisher #10 from Marvel Comics

Frank Castle's newest superpower makes his targets inhuman, meaning that everyone he's killing is now a faceless threat who is nearly indistinguishable from anyone else, in Marvel's Punisher #10.

Punisher #10 comes from Jason Aaron, Jesús Saiz, Paul Azaceta, color artist Matt Hollingsworth and letterer VC's Cory Petit. In the series so far, Frank Castle has taken on a leadership role for the Hand, a deadly group of ninjas currently in the middle of a war with Daredevil/Matt Murdock, in exchange for the resurrection of his wife, Maria. The gig, Frank has learned, equips the Punisher with a number of supernatural abilities, including the power of flight, super-strength and more.

In Punisher #10, Frank is sent out on a number of deadly missions across the globe that involve him assassinating a bunch of high-profile targets. The Hand's Archpriestess explains that the "Eye of the Beast," an ability Frank received earlier that allows him to see a person's sins, has evolved so that he can find enemies who have hidden themselves away from the rest of the world. Furthermore, the Archpriestess says Franks now "sees his fellow man as the Beast sees them. As things of meat, indistinguishable from one another except when it comes to man's most important of features. His sins."

While the Archpriestess continues to explain that this ability will see Frank truly rise to become one with the Hand's demonic Beast and the true leader of the evil ninja clan, the Punisher manages to get control over himself and pauses when a frightened young boy holds a gun up to him. His powers may make it so that everyone looks the same and can only be identified by their sins; however, Frank notices something that causes him to let the boy escape.

The Avengers Are Going After the Punisher AND Daredevil

The Punisher later tells a couple of ninjas that he's finished hunting people down and wants to return to his wife, but those plans are interrupted by the arrival of Captain America, Black Widow, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange and Wolverine. In the previous issue, Captain America admitted to Black Widow that, while he recognizes Frank is a soldier, he's now reaching the point where he's starting to believe he can't be saved. At the same time, Earth's Mightiest Heroes are also waging a war against Matt Murdock at the same time. In Daredevil #8 (by writer Chip Zdarsky and illustrated by Marco Checchetto), Captain America, Spider-Man and Iron Man set their sights on both Matt and Elektra Natchios after the two of them broke into a prison and freed a bunch of super criminals, among other incidents.
