Frank Castle is the Punisher, a man who has given his life over entirely to his war on crime. Unlike the superheroes who fight criminals and then turn them over to the police, the Punisher has no intention of allowing his enemies to hurt anyone ever again. His war on crime is fought with a military arsenal and success is measured by his body count.

For a man in the Marvel Universe operating with no super powers, Frank does incredibly well. Part of the reason for this is his years of training and experience, but another reason is that he uses some amazing high-tech tools. These are the ten craziest gadgets he's ever used.

10 Ant-Man's Helmet

The Punisher is known for using whatever weapons it takes to kill his enemies. While he frequently carries an M16 assault rifle with him on missions, sometimes Frank attempts a more subtle approach, such as when he used Ant-Man helmet to miniaturize himself.

His plan was actually rather brilliant. He had a pizza delivered to his enemies, waited for a guard to eat a slice of the pizza with him shrunk down to an invisible size while on it, then exploded out of the guard from the inside. For Frank Castle, that is about as subtle as it gets.

9 Black Bifrost

After the War of the Realms, Punisher took it upon himself to avenge the children who'd been orphaned by Malekith's forces. The dark elf had used a decoy copy of the Bifrost, called the Black Bifrost, to travel between worlds and invade Earth. The Punisher stole a part of the Black Bifrost, hooking it up to his van so he could drive through space and between realms as he went on a berserker vengeance spree.

This all took place during the comic Punisher Kill Krew, which is one of the most upbeat and morbidly funny Punisher books to come out in recent years. Even more fun than the transdimensional murder spree enabled by the Black Bifrost is just watching Frank go to work wearing a viking helmet.

8 War Machine

Nick Fury once helped Frank to steal the War Machine armor to invade a foreign nation whose government had just been overthrown by a dangerous autocrat. The result was devastating as the Punisher used the War Machine armor to utterly devastate his enemies.

While Frank has stolen an Iron Man suit once before, this was a different experience entirely, an armored suit not designed to save people as a superhero, but specifically made as a weapon for modern warfare.  Needless to say, while there was a bit of an initial learning curve, Punisher proved up to the challenge.

7 Web Shooter

Spider-Man's iconic web shooters let the wall crawler swing from the rooftops of New York's many tall buildings, but what would happen if Punisher ever got his hands on one? It turns out that he would use it to swing from rooftops to break into nearby buildings and perform assassinations.

This angered Peter Parker so much that he attacked the Punisher in a parking garage, outraged that Frank would turn something Spider-Man used to help people into a murder weapon. This just goes to show that there is nothing that Frank Castle won't use to gain an advantage in his war on crime.

6 Nuclear Missile

This is not a gadget in the conventional sense but it was certainly used like one. During the Punisher MAX story "Mother Russia" by writer Garth Ennis, the Punisher fired a nuclear missile at Moscow. He sends a message to the Russian military officials, telling them "I will burn Russia and its people from the face of the Earth."

However, rather than launching an attack to destroy the city, he rode the rocket into the air, where the warhead deactivated mid-flight and he parachuted out. That's right, Frank Castle used a nuclear missile as a form of transportation.

5 Disintegration Bomb

This item has no formal name in the comics, but appeared in the first issue of Matthew Rosenberg's 2018 run of The Punisher. The bomb was one of several unnamed high tech weapons employed by Frank while he was taking out a HYDRA facility. While making his escape, Punisher threw this bomb onto the ground, then grabbed ahold of a helicopter as it was lifting off.

The bomb's detonation began with crackling blue electricity, then expanded into a passive blue dome-shaped blast that disintegrated the meat and blood of anyone caught in the blast, leaving only burnt skeletons. It even fried the birds flying overhead.

4 Magic Bullet

This is another item from Rosenberg's 2018 run of The Punisher. It is never formally named other than to be described as magic. This bullet was used to assassinate the Mandarin, a powerful villain whose ten magic rings allow him to do almost anything he could ever want to, including granting him the ability to slow time, create illusions, and dominate the minds of others.

Despite the Mandarin's ability to normally stop bullets in their path, this magic bullet ripped right through his defenses. The villain watched in horror as the bullet slowly tore through his shields, aware that there was nothing he could do to stop it.

3 Goblin Glider

The Green Goblin flies around New York on his Goblin Glider, terrorizing civilians and hurling exploding pumpkin bombs at anyone who gets in his way. Other goblin-themed villains over the years have used similar tech, such as the Hobgoblin, Monster, and Menace.

During the story Anti-Venom: New Ways To Live, the Punisher revealed he had a glider of his own. This is really just a stolen Green Goblin glider emblazoned with the iconic skull logo, but there is no denying that it is cool to see Frank Castle flying through the air on his personal Punisher Glider (and yes, that really is it's name).

2 Ghost Gauntlet

The villain the Ghost has technology that allows them to become intangible. This has enabled the Ghost to become a master spy and assassin capable of infiltrating almost any secure facility. However, the Punisher got hold of one of gloves for Ghost's suit.

With the Ghost Gauntlet, Frank Castle can become intangible for a period of up to five seconds at a time. Needless to say, while this is not as potent as the Ghost's whole suit with its nigh-unlimited intangibility, such a piece of equipment gives Punisher a huge advantage. The Ghost Gauntlet lets him get into and out of  tough spot.

1 Hellfire Shotgun

The Hellfire Shotgun is a weapon mainly used by the Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze. It even appeared in the 2007 Ghost Rider film. During the first Annual issue for the 2013 run of Thunderbolts, Punisher wielded this very same weapon, firing a blast of hellfire at a True Fairy, a form of Lovecraftian Old One who had taken the form of Doctor Strange.

The True Fairy was spreading happiness to those who lacked it, dismantling reality by flooding people with emotions, then feeding on their emotions. Frank Castle only finds joy in killing. Shooting an Old One in the face with a Hellfire Shotgun was enough to defeat it - and to make Frank actually smile.
