After being spotted by photographers on the New York City set of "Daredevil's" second season, the latest issue of "Entertainment Weekly" features the first official stills of the Netflix series' take on Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung).
The stills originally appeared yesterday on Twitter, posted by user BatarangBlues who snapped pics of the magazine's pages. The Elektra image posted on Twitter also features a bit of the article's text, which calls Yung's character a "lethal love interest" and Bernthal's Punisher a "vigilante who has the same clean-up-the-streets mission as Murdock, except he uses guns instead of fisticuffs and simply murders every criminal he can find."

Additionally, EW's article accompanying the Punisher photo speaks about the character's role in the show, revealing that Bernthal will appear in the opening scene of season two. The character will also introduce a lot of new moral issues into the show.
"Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun but we're also going to force people -- the way we force Matt -- to second-guess themselves," said co-showrunner Doug Petrie. "Taking lethal justice into your own hands is in America in 2015 is tricky s-t. We have not shied away from the rich complicated reality of Now. If you've got a gun and you're not the police you're going to incite strong feelings. We're stirring the pot and we're aware of the headlines where we live and we're trying to get people to think."
"Daredevil's" second season arrives on Netflix in 2016.
