Nearly 30 years after its initial release, Quentin Tarantino's cult-classic film Pulp Fiction is getting a 4K Ultra HD Digital, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Limit-Edition Collector’s SteelBook release on Dec. 6, 2022 via Paramount Home Entertainment.

In its release announcement, Paramount describes Pulp Fiction as "of the most influential films of the 1990s," adding that this is the first time audiences will be able to watch the Palme d'Or-winnning, Academy Award-nominated film in these HD formats. The package will also include access to a Digital copy of the film, as well as bonus content, which includes trivia, fun facts, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes montages, a featurette on the film's production design, Tarantino's Palme d'Or Acceptance speech and more.

Pulp Fiction's new release comes just days after Tarantino's feature directorial debut, Reservoir Dogs, received a similar treatment. The film's first-ever 4K release comes out on Nov. 15, and includes deleted scenes and special featurettes. The director's WWII revenge-fantasy film, Inglourious Basterds, also got a 4K release last year.

Amid new releases of his old films, there is no news just yet on what Tarantino's next directorial effort will look like -- if it happens at all. A couple of years ago, rumors were floating around that he would helm a new Star Trek film, and while he shot down those speculations, he didn't rule out his involvement in a potential project. "I think they might make that movie, but I just don’t think I’m going to direct it. It’s a good idea. They should definitely do it and I’ll be happy to come in and give them some notes on the first rough cut," he said.

This isn't the only rumored Tarantino-led installment of a popular franchise that never came to be. In 2019, the director revealed that the chance for him to direct the sixth installment in the Halloween franchise slipped through the cracks. "I never got hired," he explained.

But just because his chances to be a part of the Halloween franchise were squandered doesn't mean that Tarantino won't still direct a horror flick in the future. Back in 2019, the director said that, after directing the terrifying Spahn Ranch sequence in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, he felt inspired to direct a horror film. "If I come up with a terrific horror film story," he said, "I will do that as my tenth film. I love horror movies. I would love to do a horror film."

Pulp Fiction is available to rent in 4K Ultra HD on Dec. 6, 2022.
