PUBG Mobile Will Cross Over With Resident Evil 2

The popular online shooter Player Unknown's Battleground Mobile (PUBG) is crossing over with another iconic video game franchise soon: Capcom's longrunning Resident Evil series.

The Japanese Resident Evil Twitter account announced the upcoming crossover with a video of the ominously deserted streets of its fictional setting Raccoon City after a devastating zombie outbreak. The announcement teases that the shooter will cross over specifically with Resident Evil 2, which receives an enhanced remake from Capcom next month.

Details on the crossover, including release date, are still unknown. It is also unknown if the crossover will entail zombies entering the battle, if the crossover will be set in Raccoon City or if Resident Evil 2 protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield will become playable characters.

The upcoming crossover comes on the heels of the online shooter crossing over with the DCEU's Suicide Squad last month, with the 2016 film's versions of Harley Quinn and the Joker becoming available as playable characters.

In the meantime, the enhanced remake of Resident Evil 2 is scheduled to be released on January 25 from Capcom on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
