The release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 is right around the corner, and Marvel Comics is celebrating with a series of variant covers for several November and December Spider-Man titles.

The covers will be released for upcoming issues of The Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man. "Just as Marvel's Spider-Man was a love letter to Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter-ego, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales celebrates every aspect of this break-out hero of a new generation," said Marvel Games VP & head of creative Bill Rosemann. "Continuing that tradition of authenticity, the teams at Insomniac Games, PlayStation, and Marvel Games have united to spotlight the amazing behind-the-scenes artists who are bringing this action-packed game to life. What's especially meaningful about this series of variant covers is that, if viewed in a particular order, they showcase our collective commitment to storytelling."

The first cover is for The Amazing Spider-Man #53.LR, which was drawn by Insomniac Games art director Jason Hickey. It features Miles looking down at a New York City under siege by the game's villain, Tinkerer. It is also reminiscent of the animation style of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the 2018 film that introduced Miles to casual moviegoing audiences.

The Amazing Spider-Man #53 cover is by Marvel Games creative director Tim Tsang. According to Rosemann, it captures "the moment when Miles makes the heroic decision to mask up, rise up, and defend his home and his loved ones."

Insomniac Games senior concept artist Nicholas Schumaker designed the cover of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #21, which showcases Miles' speed and agility as he races to battle.

Finally, the cover of The Amazing Spider-Man #54, by Insomniac Games art director Gavin Goulden, features Miles and the Tinkerer battling for the fate of the city. "An entire saga in four images… with one more cover yet to be revealed!" Rosemann teased.

Miles Morales was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli in 2011. His first appearance was in Ultimate Fallout #4, which came out in August of that year. He has similar powers to Peter Parker but can also shoot bursts of electrical energy out of his hands. Since his comics debut, he has risen in popularity, eventually making his way to the big screen. Spider-Verse grossed $375.5 million on a $90 million budget and won Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards and Best Animated Feature Film at the 76th Golden Globe Awards. A sequel is currently in development and will feature Japanese Spider-Man from the 1970s Japanese series.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 12.

Amazing Spider-Man #53.LR and Amazing Spider-Man #53 hit shelves in November. Amazing Spider-Man #54 and Miles Morales: Spider-Man #21 debut in December.
