Fans of Marvel's Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 will not be able to pick up where they left off on the PlayStation 5's remastered version of the popular game.Insomniac Games confirmed via a Twitter exchange with a curious fan that game saves from the PlayStation 4 version "won't transfer the original game to the Remaster." The Remastered version of Marvel's Spider-Man will actually be available when the PlayStation 5 launches on Nov. 12. It will be packaged with the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, which also boasts several in-game items, alternate suits and extra skill points. It's worth noting that Insomniac Games has officially stated there are no plans to physically release a copy of Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered. Originally released in 2018, Marvel's Spider-Man was well-received by fans worldwide, with the game accruing several "Game of the Year" awards. The main story followed Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man), who faced off against Mister Negative as he planned to release a deadly virus in his attempts to gain control of New York City's criminal underworld.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales, meanwhile, sees gamers inhabit the role of Miles Morales as he shoulders the responsibilities of being Spider-Man. He soon finds himself caught up in a war between the Roxxon Energy Corporation and the criminal underground, and has to do all he can to stop their rivalry from destroying his hometown.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 this holiday season.
