Marvel's Spider-Man remains one of the best-selling and most critically acclaimed video games, and is often hailed as one of the best interpretations of the Spider-Man mythos. And it seems like the sequel will improve upon those elements, as well as pay homage to another Spider-Man game.

A new list of rumors on Reddit hints at the gameplay mechanics and story for the sequel, as well as a potential Holiday 2021 release date for the PlayStation 5.

The list contains a description of several cutscenes, including a video conference call between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. The game will apparently see Peter Parker and J. Jonah Jameson returning to the Daily Bugle as photographer and editor-in-chief respectively. Another cutscene shows Peter in a heated debate with Jameson and Eddie Brock, the future host for the Venom symbiote.

However, the biggest reveal was when Spider-Man confronts Harry Osborn, who possesses this universe's version of the Symbiote. The symbiote then leaves Harry and bonds to Peter, creating the classic black and white suit. Much like Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, the game will apparently feature a system where Spidey makes choices at certain junctures that will affect the narrative

Other reveals include Mysterio as a possible side-mission, Miles Morales, who gained spider-powers at the end of the first game, as a possible playable character, and possible appearances from the Human Torch and Daredevil.
