Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, hosted in Hollywood on Aug. 26 and 27, sold a total of $6.2 million worth of iconic film and TV memorabilia.

This was Prop Store’s first-ever live auction. Held over two days, it was broadcasted around the world from the vendor’s Los Angeles office and included an extensive collection of original artwork, props and costumes. Hundreds of bidders from across the globe gathered online for the livestream to stake their claim on these one-of-a-kind items.

"Prop Store’s first-ever Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction out of Los Angeles was a resounding success," said Prop Store’s COO, Brandon Alinger, in a statement. "We thank the many film fans and collectors who took part in the event and look forward to our next auction, which will be later this year from our London office."

The most expensive item at the auction was the Top Gun Maverick fighter pilot helmet, worn by Tom Cruise in the 1986 classic Top Gun, which sold for $325,000 with buyer’s premium. Right behind that bid was another famous helmet: Darth Vader’s original 1977 touring costume sold for $287,500.

23 expensive pieces of memorabilia were sold in all -- resting at number 23 was Edward Scissorhands’ Scissorhands (worn by Johnny Depp) which sold for $22,500. Not every item went into the tens of thousands, however, with a Bat-Signal Blueprint from Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever (1995) selling for $438.
