The Promised Neverland has been the talk of the anime community since its seconded seasoned debuted. This isn't because of the anime series previous popularity, though. Instead, fans are tuning in to figure out just what's actually going on with the story. The anime has gone completely off the rails by skipping the manga's most popular arc and leaving out key characters.
Norman also appears seemingly out of nowhere, and the demons are put in an entirely different light. A lot of fans took issues with the ending of the manga in Summer 2020, and it seems like the anime may be trying to make up for this. As a result, anime-only fans won't be aware of certain plot points that have only happened in the manga.

10 The Adventures Of Ugo Books Guiding The Kids Through The Forest
The Adventures of Ugo does not exist in the anime, but it was an extremely important book in the manga. The novel was by Ray and described the creatures and flora of the strange world the kids are in.
By using what he learned from the book, the children of Grace Field House are able to move through the forest and its various dangers much more easily.
9 The Cruel Reality Of The Factory Farms
The factory farms are a very dark reveal in the manga as they mass manufacture children for meat. These are brutal facilities where many of the children have deformities both mentally and physically thanks to mass breeding.
They are tied to tubes and a few low-grade food using feeding tubes until it's time to harvest them. This is barely touched on in the anime and doesn't go into the horrific reality of the world the kids are in.
8 William Minerva & Norman Being Connected
It's a bit hard to figure out just what is going on when it comes to Norman showing up completely out of nowhere. Norman was a huge reveal in the later chapters of the manga, far after the time skip.
He was acting as William Minerva, and he had changed immensely by the time the kids met up with him, so it felt much more organic when he was referred to as the boss.
7 Isabelle's Heartwrenching Fate is Rewritten
Isabelle was presumed dead to nearly the end of the manga and certainly wasn't sent out to track down the children. This also brings up problems with Grandma still being around even after the Grace Field escape.
Isabelle has a beautiful redemption in the manga, and it doesn't seem like that is going to be the case in the anime. In fact, Isabelle is keeping to her villain role.
6 Goldy Pond Was Erased From The Anime
One of the things that anime fans were most excited for when season two first aired was finally seeing Goldy Pond animated. Goldy Pond is an action-packed arc that takes after The Most Dangerous Game.
Emma finds her way into a fake city that was invented for sport by sadistic demons who love to hunt humans. A whole new cast of kids is met here, and Emma must battle her way out of the city.
5 The Older Children Being Discovered in Goldy Pond
Since Goldy Pond is missing, that also means that staple characters are also missing, like Lucas who was an escaped child from the Glory Bell farm. There is also the fact that the children in Goldy Pond were caught by demon poachers.
This meant that several different children were living in the settlement, and it helped give more depth to the story and introduce the idea of other farms.
4 The Seven Walls Being The Key To Escape
Manga fans know all too well about the Seven Walls and just how important they are to the story. There has been no mention of the Seven Walls in the anime, which is bringing up a lot of questions about the possible ending of the show.
This may point to Him playing a smaller role or not appearing in the series at all, which would be a huge letdown for fans who enjoyed the supernatural twist.
3 The Shelter Raid Is A lot More Climatic In The Manga
The Shelter Raid happened differently in the manga and didn't happen anywhere near as fast. In fact, there was a whole arc before the shelter got raided, and the children were a bit more settled in. This is the Cuvitidala arc in the manga, and it shows more about Ratri's personality and makes the swat team raid feel less like a random attack and more like a big turning point in the story.
2 Mister Is Scrubbed From The Anime Entirely
Mister or Yugo is another character who is missing from the show and was an older escapee who lived in the shelter when the kids arrived. He had issues getting along with Emma at first and was happy living life as a shut-in.
He had a heartbreaking redemption arc and became a popular character in the manga. He is another character who helps to portray just how bleak the world is and the effects it has on the mental state of escaped humans.
1 The Paradise Hideout is Nowhere to be Found
Paradise Hideout is a big deal, and it's where the group is originally supposed to meet Norman. The hideout contained kids who had been rescued by Norman and by Minerva before him.
This helps solidify just how long the rebellion to save the children in the farms has taken place and helps show how Norman got into a status of power.
