Released in 2019, the movie Promare created by Studio Trigger became an instant hit among critics. Written by Kazuki Nakashima and directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, the movie's animation was unanimously praised for not only being of extremely high quality, but for using a pastel color palette that isn't often seen in anime movies for adults.

Comparisons were instantly made by Trigger's previous series like Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill because of their similar art designs and character tropes. However, those fans who are looking to enjoy movies with similar plots, animation or characters as shown in Promare, here's an excellent list for them.

10 Gurren Lagann

There's no denying the similarities between these shows - right from their animation, to their characters (how Galo is basically Kamina) and how even their premise is basically the same. Those fans who enjoyed one anime are sure to like the other, especially seeing how both were made by Trigger studio.

9 Kill La Kill

Student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin rules the Honnouji Academy, and her Elite Four treats everybody else like dirt. Created by the same studio as Promare, fans will enjoy the crazily drawn animation unique to both these shows.
