Netflix's newest film, Project Power, introduces audiences to a new world of superheroes and supervillains, in which both are created with the help of a pill. Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has revealed that that gave him and co-star Dominique Fishback freedom to create with their characters: New Orleans Police officer Frank Shaver and high school student Robin.

In an interview with Collider, Gordon-Levitt explained, "From the first time we met, we were rehearsing and we decided to just do some improv about how these two met. Because they're an unlikely pair. It's a high school student and a detective." He went on to state that they covered almost every aspect of their history, from how they met to how and why they continued to stay in touch. "And after having gone through all of that, we had this history in place that we had experienced and I think you can feel that," the actor said, "Even in our first scene, the audience doesn’t knowing [sic] anything yet about their relationship, but we knew it and I think you can feel that when you're watching."

Project Power follows Frank, Robin and Art Reilly, who join forces to put an end to the supply and circulation of Power, a pill that provides its users with superpowers that last for five minutes. The film has received generally positive reviews with many praising Fishback's performance.

Starring Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dominique Fishback, Rodrigo Santoro, Courtney B. Vance and Amy Landecker, Project Power is available now on Netflix.
