This is the first time a global audience will have access to the game, which was released in Japan in 2018, and later in Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, as well as Thai. It fast became a bestseller, hitting the top spot in the Japanese App Store's sales ranking, and performing similarly well in other regions' App Stores.

Anime fans might recognize Princess Connect! Re: Dive from its anime adaptation, which was simulcast this spring by Crunchyroll, or its manga iteration, first published by Kodansha in 2019. The game itself fits into the action role-play genre. Set in the land of Astrum, players join a group of heroines to fight real-time battles. Each heroine can be powered up as the story progresses while unlocking special story content.

"Our community already loves the anime, and we’re excited to bring this title to anime fans around the world who have been patiently waiting outside of Asia," Terry Li, head of 360 and general manager of Games at Crunchyroll said.

"I'm truly delighted that we can finally make this title available to both gaming and anime fans in Western regions, which of course includes fans of Princess Connect! Re: Dive," said Yuito Kimura, Executive Director & Producer of Princess Connect! Re: Dive at Cygames. "The game was developed as a fusion of anime and RPG elements, providing users with the innovative experience of 'playing through an anime.' We hope that many of you will be able to enjoy this fresh, new experience."
