Prey character effects artist Tom Woodruff thinks there's one great fight that has yet to be explored in cinema -- Batman against a Predator.

"I like the idea of Batman fighting a Predator," Woodruff said in an interview with ComicBook.com which also included Dane DiLiegro, who plays the Predator in Prey. "I'll take that one... Dane, if nobody else goes for it, you and me and a little camcorder, we're going to make this work."

DiLiegro added that in this hypothetical duel, Christian Bale from The Dark Knight trilogy would be his top pick, though Ben Affleck's portrayal from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League was also intriguing.

"I like [Christian] Bale's," DiLeigro said when asked about his favorite Batman interpretations on screen. "I like what they did with his character, that tank that he drives. I would have to go Christian Bale would probably be the most formidable. [Ben] Affleck is a Boston guy. I'm from Boston. We'd get into conversation about things."

Has Batman Fought The Predator Before?

While one might have been born in comic books and the other in cinema, Batman and the Predator have crossed paths multiple times, notably in three fan-favorite crossovers released by DC and Dark Horse Comics in the '90s. Batman Versus Predator, originally published in 1991, was written by Dave Gibbons and illustrated by Andy and Adam Kubert. The mashup featured a Yautja venturing to Gotham and hunting the city's most prominent people until crossing paths with Batman. It ended in an all-out brawl between human and alien, with Batman wearing an experimental sonar exoskeleton Batsuit to combat the Predator's tech.

Two sequels followed -- 1994's Batman Versus Predator II: Bloodmatch, which was written by Doug Moench and penciled by Paul Gulacy, and 1997's Batman Versus Predator III: Blood Ties, which featured a script by Chuck Dixon and art by Rodolfo Damaggio. Bloodmatch saw Batman and the Huntress fighting new Predators on Earth, while Blood Ties featured Robin, Oracle, Catwoman and Mister Freeze.

The 2003 live-action fan film Batman: Dead End drew inspiration from these crossovers, and saw Batman pitted against not only a Predator, but a Xenomorph from the Aliens franchise in its surprise finale.

Prey, which has received rave reviews with some calling it the best film in the Predator franchise, is streaming now on Hulu in the US, Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ everywhere else.
