Two summers ago, DC Comics announced they would be reviving the classic Wally Wood series, "T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents," introducing the characters directly into the larger world of the DC Universe.

Earlier this year during Comic-Con International in San Diego, CBR News spoke with writer Nick Spencer about being tapped to helm the characters' return, along with artist CAFU. Spencer told us the new series isn't a reboot, but is instead a continuation of the original stories, saying, "Everything that happened in the original story is honored and is a part of the story, but this happens some years down the road." Spencer continued. Encouraging readers to try the series, the writer added, "I think when people check it out, they'll see that this is really a world apart from anything else that's out there currently."

Today, fans are given their first look at the long-awaited series via DC's blog, The Source. The first six pages of the new title, along with Darwyn Cooke's variant cover providing an alternate to Frank Quitely's already-released cover to issue #1, have been released, offering a glimpse at a series over forty years in the making.
