The Mystery of Miles Morales Begins in Spider-Men II #1 First Look

Fans have been waiting for years to read the sequel to Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli's Spider-Men series, and with the series' debut only weeks away, Marvel Comics has finally released a preview of the first issue.

The series will dig into the mystery of who the Marvel Universe's Miles Morales is, and what happened to him when the Ultimate Universe -- and its Miles Morales -- was merged into the 616 in the wake of the reality-warping Secret Wars.

"One of my favorite things about a shared universe, is that on top of what you’re writing for the characters, other things are happening to the characters," Bendis said in a statement accompanying the preview. "Like now Miles is in the new universe, and now he’s a part of the Champions, and half of [Civil War II] was people fighting over his head, so things have changed in his life, and his relationship to the Marvel Universe is completely different than it was in the first series and that’s exciting.”

Spider-Men II #1, by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli and a cover by Pichellia nd Justin Ponsor, arrives in July. Check out the first issue preview, along with variant covers by Julian Totino Tedesco, Daniel Acuña, Kadir Nelson and Jesüs Said below.
