After a three-year hiatus, the acclaimed Image Comics series Pretty Deadly by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Emma Rios is back for an all-new volume next month.

After the first two volumes of the bestselling series took place in the wild west, the action shifts into 1933 Hollywood in the upcoming five issue miniseries Pretty Deadly: The Rat. To reflect the new time period, the series has released a trailer in the style of classic Hollywood with decidedly sinister undertones.

Steeped in the supernatural and magical realism, the first volume had followed Death's daughter as she roamed the untamed American west. The second volume had taken place during World War I as an ailing mother searched for her son in France stalked by Reapers amidst the carnage.

Set in Golden Age of Hollywood, the upcoming third volume will explore the hellish side of the City of Angels as the extremes people go to achieve are depicted after a young filmmaker is found dead under suspicious circumstances.
