New information has surfaced via USA Today about DreamWorks Animation's upcoming "Kung Fu Panda 3" -- namely that there's going to be a whole lot more panda to be going around.

Thus far in the franchise, series protagonist Po -- the eponymous Kung Fu Panda voiced by Jack Black -- believed that he was the lone survivor of his panda people. But according to the report, in the upcoming film Po discovers not only an entire panda-filled enclave but also his long-lost father Li, voiced by Bryan Cranston.

"Lo and behold, there's a secret panda village. There's intense rejoicing as I am reunited with my people," Black told USA Today. "There are even cute baby pandas. Those guys are going to be the life of the party, for sure."

Along with dad and a bunch of baby pandas, Po also encounters something else -- something he is quite unfamiliar with: a female panda named Mei Mei voiced by Rebel Wilson.

Wilson wowed directors Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni when she showed up to their first meeting with a love poem she wrote to Po and a pair of pink nunchucks.

Along with newcomers Cranston and Wilson, the film brings back original cast members Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Dustin Hoffman and Lucy Liu.

"Kung Fu Panda 3" opens in theaters January 29, 2016.
