The news comes after Marvel announced it would be creating new comics based on the Alien and Predator licenses. Disney, Marvel's parent company, acquired film studio 20th Century Fox in 2019, and now holds the movie rights to Alien and Predator. This also marks another license that has transferred from Dark Horse Comics to Marvel, with the Star Wars license undergoing similar treatment in 2014.

Marvel had previously unveiled a series of variant covers for Alien in January, which featured heroes including Thor and the Fantastic Four encountering the nightmarish Xenomorphs. An Alien ongoing series from Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Superman, Action Comics) and Salvador Larroca (Star Wars: Darth VaderThe Invincible Iron Man) will bow in March. A creative team for the upcoming Predator series has yet to be revealed.

Amazing Spider-Man #65 goes on sale on May 5 from Marvel.
