Newly released images from The Predator offer the best look yet at the titular hunter's new armor.

With Shane Black's upcoming Predator sequel pitting the alien not only against human soldiers but also "ultimate Predators," the hunter has upgraded its look accordingly. In new images released by Empire, the Predator is seen sporting a more metallic armor with form-fitting plates and a shiny, chrome helmet.

"The challenge became to make it frightening, 'cause upon that hinged everything; whether you bought our heroes going up against him and felt a real threat for them," explained Black to Empire. "We had to invent a scenario in which the Predators were mysterious and scary again."

Another image released by the British entertainment news magazine shows the unmasked Predator disarming and throttling a hapless human soldier in one fell swoop. Based on footage seen from the trailers, this sequence looks like it takes place in a top secret government laboratory where the captured Predator is experimented on.

Both in its new armor and out of it, the Predator looks to be every inch as lethal as ever.
