The first clip for the upcoming Predator holiday short has been released.

The holiday short will tie in with the arrival of The Predator on home video. The film becomes available on Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 18, while the special will air the next night on Comedy Central during an episode of Bojack Horseman.

The short begins at the North Pole. Everything is done in the style of the classic Rankin/Bass shorts, mimicking the stop motion animation of classic Christmas stories like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It takes a dark turn, though, when Blitzzen notices a distinctive red target moving across his body.

Blitzzen quickly moves into action, but even a Gatling gun wielded by a magical reindeer (which, let’s be honest, is pretty great) won't be able to stop a Predator. The North Pole should expect a red Christmas this year. Here’s hoping it comes down to Santa hiding his heat signature with snow and tackling the alien hunter from behind.
