Lo, and there were great choruses of praise -- according to the Hollywood Reporter, HBO is developing a one-hour series based on the popular 1990s Vertigo comics series. Mark Steven Johnson, the writer-director behind comic adaptations "Daredevil" and the upcoming "Ghost Rider," is writing the pilot, while Howard Deutch is attached to direct. Johnson and Deutch will executive produce along with Michael De Luca, George Agusto, Chris Bender and JC Spink.
Remember that rumor of a rift between Marvel and Fox over the future of the franchise? Well, IESB has the word directly from the studio: "20th Century Fox owns the rights for perpetuity, which is a fancy word for forever." If it's coming from Xavier's, apparently, it's coming from Fox.
The network's official site has a new interview with actor Justin Hartley.
QUIET ON THE SET
Slow news day, huh? That's why we can't do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos -- they're all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, "What do you mean your sister's dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?" The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web's rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we've got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu (web site, MySpace blog) saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and "enough talk -- let's go make with the 'biff' and the 'pow' already."
